Nice Looking Loafer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are a really nice looking loafer. I’ve been waiting for a chunky loafer for a while, and this one was on sale. I did order a half size down based on other review.

Materials caused skin dermatitis
Was hoping for nice casual office everyday shoe. Decent fit, nice lug soles. After wearing for 1 week, my feet broke out in a rash, which has never happened before in my entire life. Probably the upper vamp materials contained either an adhesive or a tanning solution which caused the reaction on both feet. I am returning them.

Battledhips meant for port
These have their virtues: pretty being one. But everything about them is large. The construction is gun boat. You look down and you’re wearing naval destroyers, which is how they move—slow to go, slow to turn, they’re giant blocks of gray but comfortable if you don’t need to go far or come to a stop in a tight place like theaters, airplanes, etc. The fit also runs at least 1/2 size too big, maybe a full size. Can’t exchange ‘em, Final Sale/No Returns and all that. When a company is walking away from a shoe meant to walk forward, must be a reason.

Great, comfortable shoes!
I actually have four pairs of Freeports--plus this one for a spare! The lugged sole provides safe footing in any weather--important for someone of my age (73). I have them in all four colors--tan, grey, black, and burnished brown.

Too Big
Initially order 8.5 Size D but they were too narrow for the front of my foot. After more than a 2 week delay got the 3E larger size which fit better in the front of the but are too long for my foot. I had to put 3 shoe pads to get it to fit. Size 8 would be too small and Size 9 too large. Shoes should not be size big but actual size to avoid these issue
