Randolph 2.0 Loafer

I only recently bought my first pair of Allen Edmonds shoes and so far I am very impressed with the quality and style of the USA made versions. Like all apparel companies whether they be clothes, shoes or accessories you get what you pay for, and if you can get a pair of AE shoes for a good price I say go for it.

I picked up the Randolph in pewter suede and honestly, it might be the most versatile shoe I own. The color is stunning in person — a cool, neutral grey-tone that photographs well but looks even better on foot. It hits that sweet spot between casual and refined that's hard to find. The suede quality is immediately noticeable. It's thick, even, and has a beautiful nap that holds up well with basic brushing and care. Pewter is a surprisingly easy color to style — it pairs effortlessly with navy, grey, olive, camel, and even lighter wash denim without competing with anything in your outfit. The Randolph silhouette is just right. Clean and classic without being stuffy, and the penny strap sits perfectly proportioned. These aren't a fashion loafer — they're a timeless shape that will look just as good ten years from now. Fit is true to size, and the break-in was gentle. Suede conforms a bit faster than calf leather and these felt comfortable quickly. Construction feels solid and well-finished throughout.

The shoes arrived in a timely fashion and were quite comfortable right out of the box. In fact, they were noticeably more comfortable than my original leather Randolph Penny Loafers in the same size. These lighter-colored suede loafers are a wonderful addition to my collection and really work well when a light-colored shoe is appropriate. They work particularly well with more casual looks. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the leather soles feel solid and durable. I'm hard on my shoes so I much prefer leather to the more crepe-like ones used in the Verse models. All-in-all, I think these shoes look quite elegant. With proper care they have retained that nice appearance that suede is known for. I'm very happy with this purchase and gladly recommend these shoes.
