Nice, Casual, Comfortable
A perfect mix of nice and casual with a real boot grip. It's great for the office on Fridays and to the bar with my friends afterward. Cap toe with a boot grip, and super comfortable.

Attractive ‘modern’ construction boot…
Great looking boot, styled for aesthetics more than durability. Pebbled leather upper texture gives it presence, but the sole material could be sturdier and of higher quality. The pseudo lug sole is shallow & more foam than it is rubber. If you want aesthetics and durability I would recommend going for a different boot with a goodyear welt’d leather sole or true Vibram lug sole for durability & higher quality construction. Perhaps I am still getting used to the lower end offerings from AE. Fit & comfort is stellar as Allen Edmonds sizing is top notch.

Too large in 3E.
Beautiful boots. Nice light weight. Sadly, on me these run too wide and a little long which is odd as most of my AE shoes are true to size and I always order 9 1/2 3E. Very disappointing.

Astor Wingtip
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent product, I just wish that it was fully waterproof

Comfortable like all Higgins Mills boots
Boot are well built and light. You can't go wrong with Higgins Mills. While the rubber sole is great it does seem to make a squeaky sound when you walk in hallways. A little loud.

Half size bigger than all my other AE.
Decent quality. Half size bigger than all my other AE shoes. I fit 8.5 EEE in every non-boot AE shoe I've worn - captoe, wingtips, penny, boats. I also count the chukka's as non-boots as I'm solidly 8.5 EEE in those as well. The Astor was my first AE real boot and it feels like a 9 EEE or maybe even 9.5 EEE. I returned the 8.5EEE and am waiting for a 8EEE.
Agree on the soft sole but it's not a bad feel and doesn't detract from the overall comfort or look. All the more incentive to wear it more often and eventually resole with vibram.
Update: I am updating my review (adding a star to make it 5) after getting the 8 EEE. Going down half a size feels much closer to my other AE's - still a touch on the roomier feel wearing thin socks, but close enough and I think I'd be pushing my luck going down a full size.
