Oita Slide Sandal

First of all, the shoe looks exactly in person as shown online. Let’s be honest, Birks are clunky. I thought these would be more slim, but no such luck. The color is as shown, a subtle dusty purple. They run big on me, I range 6-7 and ordered the 37. But I know the 36 would be too small. One snag, literally. The stitching that adheres the Velcro to the top of the wide strap is already loose, right out of the box. I was able to tuck it back into the hole with a narrow tool and is now indistinguishable.

I'm a big fan of Birks. I own probably 10 pairs at this point and they are all I wear all four seasons. I own the Kyoto style and as soon as I saw this Oita with the thinner strap, I knew I had to have them. Got them in the pink color and they were so cute all summer long; they easily matched whatever I decided to wear that day. Per Birks, the footbed takes some time to break in, which is a given. Some may find this style not as secure as Arizona's or Kyoto's... but I do not have an issue with them (used to wearing big buckle Madrid's). True to size, and I would say they run on the wider side, making them even more comfortable in hot summer months.
