Clayton Check Stretch Cotton Dickey Jacket

This is my first BD jacket. I am smitten with the fit. Size 2 fits great, though a tad long at 5’4 and 125 lbs. I plan to wear with navy or cream slacks and nude pumps, so the longer length will help cover my rear some! I was a bit surprised that the cotton had some texture, almost like a puckered seersucker. I have grown to like the lightweight nature of it and will keep it. The neutral color palette of white, blue, and tan can’t be beat. It’s very versatile and timeless. I can use it through summer and fall in Texas. Hope to buy a wool/winter VB blazer in the future.

The fit is perfect. Pair it with off white pants and you can't go wrong.

First let me say, I’ve bought about six of Veronica Beard blazers. The quality of fabric of all my purchases has been absolutely stunning, including this blazer. I so wanted to love it. I feel they run a half to one size small. For me this blazer appeared to have exaggerated shoulders. They felt overly padded to me. The length of the sleeve is nice for the summer but I felt on this blazer and a more recent purchase that the upper arms run small while the body felt true to size. Perhaps it was just this blazer and I will continue to buy these blazers. Sadly, I had to return it. I just couldn’t get over the shoulder pad issue.

This is the first jacket I’ve purchased from Veronica Beard. I love it. The tailoring is very sharp and worth the price. I normally need to have sleeves hemmed, but that’s not a problem with this style. The fabric is much prettier in person than in photos. It will go with white, blue, or beige pants as well as jeans.
