Vega Wool Dickey Jacket

Barbed wire? Yes, this fabric is so rough! The fabric feels like something in between sandpaper and barbed wire. It has to be the worst fabric I’ve ever felt. The cut is cute, but unfortunately there is quite a bit of the scratchy blazer fabric also inside the wrist /lower arm area of the blazer. It is such a shame. When VB gets the fabric wrong, they really get it wrong. The biggest VB disappointment to date. Too bad because it’s almost cute looking.

Was watching this for a while and decided to buy it. I was disappointed in the jacket. First, the color is gorgeous. Exactly what I was looking for. It's TTS. However the cut of the jacket seemed out of proportion--the jacket was an inch or two long and looked awkward. It also didn't fit as sharp and my other VB jackets. Sure, I probably could sharpen it with alterations, but I didn't think it would fix the awkwardness of the cut. I am also very wool tolerant, but I did find this fabric a bit rough on the neck.

A few things: I would expect better tailoring, inside breast pocket, softer fabric. I noticed one arm length is a bit longer than the other. A plus it is not made in China, but Turkey , but should be made in USA. I am on the fence if I will keep this jacket . I do like the color and length. I ordered a size 12 to give me room for layers, glad I did because jacket runs narrow at the back .

Beautiful jacket. TTS. I understand the previous reviewer comment on itchy. It’s 100% wool looks like an authentic tweed and like good tweed the fiber can be rougher than other fabrics. I did not find it unpleasant but it’s not a super soft wool and if you have very sensitive skin you might find it itchy or slightly abrasive. I personally think it’s fine. But I would suggest trying it on either a cami and make sure it does not bother your skin. Otherwise beautiful, elegant jacket. Highly recommended.
