Cotton Poplin A-Line Midi Skirt

This cotton A-line skirt looked very nice online, but in person it’s much wider than expected and not flattering on my body type. I have slender hips, and the cut makes me look larger than I am. I imagine it could look great on someone with wider hips. I do appreciate the deep pockets and that it’s 100% cotton, which is a must for hot summers in the desert Southwest. The fabric is quite thin but not see-through, which is nice. Unfortunately, the overall fit doesn’t work for me, so it’s being returned.

The fabric of this skirt is stiff cotton and it does not drape at all. I have wide hips and the way the pleats are cut and where the pockets sit, it makes my hips look about 10 inches wider! So very unflattering. The waistband smocking is also insanely rough and unpleasant to the touch. Not a good deal at any price!
