Moab 3 Hiking Shoe (Women)

I read about a million reviews regarding these shoes before I bought them, and I would say they live up to all the reviews! I have wide feet but I got the regular fit, and they were PERFECT! The toe box is wide and I had plenty of space. I sized up a half size to account for socks, but I can’t rave enough about these shoes! They barely needed breaking in, and I used them to hike Acatenango in Guatemala through heavy rain, mud, dirt, and straight incline for hours, but they held up AMAZING! They were light and my feet never got soaked despite the heavy rain and mud. I haven’t hiked much, so I feel very grateful I got this lucky on my first pair of hiking shoes! They are light, comfortable, and supportive (especially for my wide and flat feet). I would recommend you get these for any trip or activities!!

I really wanted to love these since I’ve had good experiences with Merrell in the past. When I first received them, they were not in a box, like maybe they were already used which was a big disappointment. They were beautiful, and I figured it was fine and I put them on. They felt very soft and comfortable, especially the interior cushioning. However, after walking about a mile, I started to notice soreness on the top of my foot, particularly in the toe area. The upper part of the shoe where the laces sit feels noticeably harder and puts pressure on my foot, which is very different from other Merrell shoes I’ve worn. It created a sore spot that made longer walks uncomfortable. I also found that they run a bit tight overall and don’t feel true to size. I typically wear a size 10, but in this case, I think a 10.5 might have been a better fit. Overall, they feel great at first, but didn’t hold up comfort-wise for extended walking. I also didn’t like that they didn’t actually come in a box just a bag.
