The in-between boot
i love this shoe. I read that the leather needed breaking in and it looks like someone did a little work on the size I purchased which is just fine by me. I wear a 9.5M and sized up and they fit wonderfully. Frye’s tend to run on the small side. These are the perfect balance between a chunkier lug sole and slimmer dress boot. The leather is stiff but it does soften to a beautiful soft black leather look without looking old and beat up.

True to size, but I'm
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] True to size, but I'm not impressed with the rubber/plastic soles. It doesn't look like they're even stitched on the sole because the stitches look like they're moulded. What happened to the leather soles and craftsmanship? I've always been a fan of Frye boots because I have rheumatoid arthritis, and now I'm not sure what to do.

Ridiculously hard to get off and on
So I ignored other reviews about this boot being too hard to pull on and off, thinking so what, I have time and energy. Then I was going through security at airport and was instructed to take my boots off. The reviews were right, they’re so hard to get on and off. I took to a shoe cobbler and had him put a zipper in. After $100.00 dollars just to be able to wear these boots they weren’t a great price
