Randolph 2.0 Loafer

A long time Allen Edmonds wearer (30 years), I decided to get a pair of suede loafers for that summer vibe to go with linen pants. I like Allen Edmonds because I have a wide foot EEE and the shoes can last a lifetime with good care, shoe trees and can be resoled when needed. This design was nice and I bought it because it was pewter color. I own a lot of grey, black and white clothes. The shoe has a slight undertone of taupe while I thought it would be more silver grey in tone. The picture online does capture the actual color correctly.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My go-to shoe for really dressy evenings is the Randolph in black--and I've had two pairs in a period of over 50 years! I got my first ones in 1980 and kept them until 1997, when, after many resoling and re-heelings, I wore them on my first business trip to Bordeaux, France, and gave them a "viking's funeral," leaving them there to fill my baggage with other purchases! I replaced them and have the second pair--until now reserved for VERY dressy affairs. This pair came in an unusual material--black horsehair surface, giving the shoe a unique and discreet lustre. This will be my go-to for special events!
