The shoes Velcro always separates the strap. They don’t ever seem to be sewn on properly. I have an autistic son who isn’t able to tie his shoes who also has x- wife feet. There aren’t many options, so we keep buying them. This time the Velcro started peeling off within a couple of weeks.

Why are we even using laces anymore? We have slip in shoes and velcro. IT's 2025 and they need to start making all the boys shoes like this. I bought the last biggest size because they don't make any with the bungees anymore and buying bungees and adding them after don't work great. Make more for boys please in bigger sizes please. New Balance is also the only brand that still makes gym shoes with rubber non-slip soles and not that white smooth plastic garbage that the kids can slip on the playground with. I wore my non-rubber soled gym shoes in the rain once and almost fell on my face.

As another review stated, the velcro on this shoe is a problem. Within a month of purchasing and wearing these shoes, the velcro on one shoe would not stick. I thought maybe the velcro was dirty, but upon inspection, it was not. You could see that both portions of the velcro were thin and there just wasn't enough for it to stick. I was fortunately sent a replacement pair. However, one month in, same issue. Strange thing is my son has this same shoe in a different color and we have not had this problem. I can't recommend these shoes, because if the velcro isn't sticking, they can't be worn.
