Not comfortable.

These boots were nothing like my first boots (last year) that were more rugged and 3 times more comfortable. I do not recommend this particular shoe.

Can they stand up to hiking in Iceland? TBD!

I bought these because I am going to Iceland later this year where it is usually raining or snowing, mostly cold, and almost always windy. They are a full pound lighter than my venerable pair of Timberlake boots. I broke them in on a <1 mile level walk wearing lightweight socks - not the heavy wool socks I plan on wearing in Iceland. Even though they slipped a bit due to the socks, there was no chafing. If allowed, I'll update my review after my trip.

Love these!

I bought these for working at a plant nursery and from using my feet to push around rocks, splashing my feet with a hose to walking around in dirt piles they’ve held up really well! I had to switch the laces out when my dog ate the ends but they’re lace versatile!! I wear them 5 days a week for 8 hours and granted my feet hurt when I take them off but I find they have great ankle support.

Great hiking boots!

I broke these shoes out in Maui, Hawaii. The shoes were great on super rocky terrain. It was raining and the rocks were wet and these shoes were great at helping me not slip. They're also comfortable enough to be worn as casual shoes and look great! I will absolutely be purchasing another pair of Merrells!
