Shockingly poor fit... and final sale
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I generally have excellent luck with Madewell items, and can usually predict how things will fit. So, even though this cute (online) dress was final sale, I figured it was a safe bet... especially since all the reviews were glowing. UGH. I'm genuinely shocked, because this is the absolute WORST-fitting item I've ever ordered from Madewell. The shoulders fall off my shoulders a solid 2 inches. The chest is huge and blousy (and I have an ample bust). The waist is too large (although I'm actually used to that). Worst of all, though, the hip area is COMICALLY HUGE. (You know how jodhpurs stick out from the leg? Well, that's what the hip area on this dress does, on me.) I will never again order a final sale anything from here, because now I'm stuck with something that would cost as much to tailor as it did to order. :(

Gorgeous but runs large
5'4", 120 lbs, 34DDD. I ordered a size 6, my usual size. The sleeves were very long with cuffs that were too large and a button (jean style, of course) that could not be moved to decrease the roominess of the cuff. The top part of the dress seemed oversized. I usually have problems getting something that fits nicely over the bosom but is small enough elsewhere. This dress definitely buttoned without issue, but really just looked large. Had to return.

Classic Western
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this dress to wear to a country concert. It was great but a little heavy so it got a bit hot. I also went with my regular Madewell size, and while it fit, I may have preferred a size up for comfort sake.

Denim done right
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this on sale and loved it so much I bought one for my daughter too. It is a heavy denim dress but it cinches in your waist and looks great with a loose belt. Definitely not a summer denim but the rest of the year it will be great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I need to get a belt for this because that will help complete the look, but I love this dress! It looks elevated, but is super comfortable. The slit goes a little high on me, but not too high to where it's an issue.
