Mid-Rise Stovepipe Jeans

This is my first time trying Madewell. For reference, I’m 5’ 4”, 114 lbs, 29” waist, 36” hips, 17.5” mid-thigh and short waisted. I purchased a size 25 and was drawn to it for the mid-rise, skinny fit and dark wash. The wash is as expected, however the rise was quite high, just covering my belly button. I think of mid rise as about 1/2” under my belly button, BUT, it did fit my waist. The length was just a little long, barefoot, nothing crazy. If worn with small heels, it would be fine. The legs were baggy around the knees but it could be due to the extra length while being barefoot. The butt wasn’t anything special or flattering either with extra material gathering a bit under my butt. All in all, they’re great if you have a long waist, more butt/hip going on. That’s what I find to be “the norm” or standard I find everywhere though, so it’s not what I would expect for the price point or nicer brand, in my opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like a dark wash when "dressing up" in jeans, just a bit more refined than faded jeans. These jeans had the great feel and fit that makes Madewell my favorite brand of jeans. Just slightly more room in the fit than skinny jeans. Perfect for date night or an event. The dark wash is slimming and combined with the fit, gives a nice silhouette.
