Cali Demi-Boot Jeans

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to like these so much! I have seen so many people wearing this cut and they all look super cute! Unfortunately, for me, that's not the case. I look and feel stupid in them. Even my mom gave me a questionable look when I asked her what she thought. It just looks like I bought awkwardly short high-water boot cut jeans. I feel as if they wouldn't be as bad if they didn't bunch at the knees so much. Maybe they'll look better in the summer? No smell to speak of, great quality, and the wash/color is true to the photos. The fit is otherwise mostly amazing- my butt looks great! in them and I love how they fit in just about every other area (although, they're slightly smaller than MW jeans I have in the same size, so the waistband does cut into me when sitting down or bending over). If I bought a bigger size, I'm positive they would be toooo big. I just really want to like these (my booty looks too good not to!) so I'll keep trying them. Hopefully, something clicks! 14W

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 other pairs of the demi-boot cut jeans from Madewell and LOVE them. The fit of these jeans is great, but unfortunately the fabric used on this particular pair has a vile smell (like factory or machinery) that I cannot seem to wash out. I have soaked them in vinegar twice overnight, covered them with baking soda twice, and have washed them at least 7 times and still can’t wear these all day without the overpowering odor returning. I love the look of the jeans and the color, but would not recommend this pair.
