Beautiful fabric but...
I bought this short in two sizes to assure that one size would fit, and they did fit, I must say quite true to size. The fabric is lovely: Nice sturdy linen, without being too stiff, the blue color is bright without screaming so it would go with so many colors. Sadly, I had to return them. The long legged models here made me assume that the length of the short must be longer than described, but NO, they are VERY short (Read: Bend over and the end of the short hem is riding up your tush). Part of the reason that I love shorts so much is that I want to freely move in them, and with this pair, I'd have to be as careful as I would wearing a mini dress. No thanks, not for me - but they ARE high quality shorts.

Another poorly designed pair of shorts. It’s like they’re cutting hems straight across and not allowing length on your backside. Short in the back Long in the front. And can barely cover your backside.

Perfect casual linen shorts
I have been looking for a pair of non-denim, casual shorts. This pair fits the bill. Having never tried L’Agence bottoms, I ordered sizes 28 and 29 since that’s my range in jeans. The 28 fit perfectly. They are somewhat mid-rise on me since I have a longer waist. They hit right at the belly button, which is fine. Any lower and I’d have muffin top. They are not too long - I am 5’3” and they hit mid thigh. They are not see-through but the linen is delicate and a little wrinkly. For me, I think this cut of shorts pairs best with a slim-ish cotton or cotton/Lycra tank top and flat sandals or low block-heeled or clog open-toe sandals rather than with a blazer or a loose blouse and heels. I have several different tops from L’Agence and I’m always impressed with how well they fit my frame. These shorts look great with my L’Agence jean jacket!
