Not a mid-rise at all
First of all, these are great fitting jeans. Very TTS, super soft and excellent stretch retention. The pictures and apparently the original description claim high rise, but as one reviewer stated, the tag states mid-rise. BUT! That's not the entire story. I think the brand mis-labeled these jeans because the two that I ordered have a very high rise of nearly 12 inches. They hit at my high waist and that measurement is not a mid-rise. Another mystery altogether is that one pair has the frayed, raw hem as shown and the other pair has a sewn hem but made to look raw, like a deliberate fringe all around the leg opening. They are otherwise identical.

Form fitting
These mid-rise jeans fit perfectly. True to size. No issues with gap in the waist area and form fitting through the thighs and booty. They are soft and have a lot of stretch.

Not high waist denim
These jeans were listed as “high waist” in the title but when they arrived were clearly marked as “mid-rise”.
