Not quite PBMs, but an okay shoe
These shoes bear a familiar silhouette to a the famous “PB Michael” shoe. However, these shoes come in a black oiled leather that looks a bit more casual. One might think that could be a feature rather than a bug, the problem is that the kind of leather used—and applied to this moc-toe style—has a tendency to crease and wrinkle in all sorts of weird ways, giving these shoes a really frumpy look when broken in. I’ve tried polishing with all kinds of waxes to make them look more tidy, to only temporary avail.
Besides that, these shoes are comfortable to wear and walk in, and are relatively well made. They’ve been a great shoulder season boot that rises above puddles and leaves while staying cool in hot weather, and looking relatively cool too. Just keep in mind that if you’re trying to look like a certain vogue, slouchy podcast-interviewer, these shoes aren’t quite it.
