Stripe Linen Blend Puff Sleeve Top

I purchased this top in the blue-and-white stripe along with the matching skirt. It looks well made enough, but I cannot attest to how well it would hold up because I returned it. I am 5’ 7.5” tall, 160 pounds, a 40” bust, and a relatively straight build; I purchased size medium. I was looking forward to the light, cotton-linen skirt and top in the hot, humid, summer weather where I live so I was disappointed when I put it on and it looked decidedly frumpy. When my husband and son saw me in the outfit, they both said to return it, and they rarely even notice what I wear. I am tired of so many tops being made without any structure to the sleeves in the shoulders, and of almost all of them being huge under the arms down into the waist. So many are made like that now that it seems like a lazy, cost-cutting pattern for designers to increase profits. Both the top and the skirt went back.
