sizing inconsistent
I ordered these on sale as they are a great deal for 100% linen shorts - which is hard to find, the fabric is really light and soft, not at all scratchy like a lot of acrylic/linen blends that you find. I ordered in black, navy, and white, expecting the white to be sheer based on the reviews. While the white are sheer, if you wear a nude thong you can’t tell. My problem with the white pair is that they fit as if they are a whole size larger than the back and navy, when I ordered a large in all three. The black and navy fit true to size.

miss the previous iteration
I have like 10 pairs of Caslon linen shorts. I literally live in these from late spring to mid autumn. Sadly the last 2 recent pairs I’ve purchased are so different from the 3in inseam version I last purchased in ‘23. They’re too long and baggy in the behind. Bring back the previous version please!!!

Good linen shorts
I am usually between a small and medium and read that some reviewers found the shorts to be a bit big. Ordered a small and they fit great. Haven’t washed them yet, but will do what I typically do with 100% linen - wash warm and lay flat to dry. I second that the darker colors (I ordered green bronze) are not see through - prob only an issue with white.

Longer Length
Purchased these years ago, the inseam was 3’, this new version is 4’ inseam. One reviewer remarked the white was sheer, this is true, even with the front pockets . I compared them with my original pair and even after many washes, my old pair is not as sheer. Pretty sure I’ll be returning these and trying the Athleta linen shorts. They’re more substantial.

super cute, not sheer if not white
I got these in the olive green color. I love them. I’m 5’2”, 140 lbs and am unfortunately apple shaped. These are great. Not too short and not too long. I got a small, I’m normally a 6 in bottoms and am a small or medium depending the brand. I would say these run a bit large and the small has a similar fit on me as the model. They are comfortable and I’ll be ordering more colors. The green bronze, as it’s called, is not sheer at all. I understand that white may be, but the green bronze is not. Great shorts.

Yes, as the other reviewer pointed out, they are on the sheer side. You can see the pockets. I wear them with linen shirts that are longer in the back so this isn’t an issue for me.
I could have used an XXS but wasn’t an option. For reference: 5’4”, 120 lbs
