These boots are not leather. They aren’t cheap looking, but they’re definitely synthetic throughout. If you find them on other websites, the description there is accurate. I’m pretty particular about my boots actually being leather so I was disappointed. Again they don’t look very cheap, but they’re definitely synthetic. They fit nicely and look pretty nice so if this doesn’t bother you no big deal.

I have a love/hate relationship with boots. Finding the right fit and the all important heel is a challenge for everyone. Add in a petite frame, small feet with fallen arches, small ankles, athletic calves, and the need for leather in the mix and the success rate drops to nearly catastrophic levels. I decided to take a chance on these and ordered both the black and brown, which arrived well packaged and sooner than expected. The brown pair came with a 2” cut near the front shaft seam, so the remainder of the review is based on the black pair. The leather on the black pair is more buttery and supple than the brown pair. The well-cushioned, true width footbed lends to all day comfort. The described 14.5” shaft circumference fits almost negligibly snug over my 15” calves.; however, the boots slouch and bulge at the ankles. Perhaps it would be less pronounced with a looser fit in the calves. All-in-all, these boots are a keeper considering the price point at the time of purchase; however, the brown pair will be returned. 5’1”, 125, normal proportions Feet - True 5.5, true medium width, low clearance, and fallen arches. These boots were great but unfortunately they both ripped at the ankles, and I had only worn them to the office less than 10 times. It wasn’t like I was jumping, squatting or doing acrobatics to make these rip. I had taken them to a local shoe repair shop and sadly they could not fix them. For what I paid, I had hoped they would have lasted for a couple years. Although Nordstrom did give me a small refund, about 1/3 the price I paid, because I reached out after the return window ended.

These are great with leggings tucked in, jeans, shorts, skirts snd dresses. They fit well even on thin legs (on which a lot of knee boots stand too far away from the leg). They were comfy on 1st wear which isn’t the case for most boots with heels. The heel on these is moderate - not difficult to walk in. Really like the rich brown color too. The leather is smooth and nice quality.
