I have a love/hate relationship with boots. Finding the right fit and the all important heel is a challenge for everyone. Add in a petite frame, small feet with fallen arches, small ankles, athletic calves, and the need for leather in the mix and the success rate drops to nearly catastrophic levels. I decided to take a chance on these and ordered both the black and brown, which arrived well packaged and sooner than expected. The brown pair came with a 2” cut near the front shaft seam, so the remainder of the review is based on the black pair. The leather on the black pair is more buttery and supple than the brown pair. The well-cushioned, true width footbed lends to all day comfort. The described 14.5” shaft circumference fits almost negligibly snug over my 15” calves.; however, the boots slouch and bulge at the ankles. Perhaps it would be less pronounced with a looser fit in the calves. All-in-all, these boots are a keeper considering the price point at the time of purchase; however, the brown pair will be returned. 5’1”, 125, normal proportions Feet - True 5.5, true medium width, low clearance, and fallen arches.
