Zermatt Genuine Shearling Lined Slipper (Men)

Needed some new slippers but didn’t want to cheap out as I usually do. Figured I’d spend the extra and get some nice high quality slippers for around the house only….they never go outside. Note that they are wider and if your a 12.5 (the 12-12.5) these will fit but will need to be broken in. 9/10 quality 8/10 size 10/10 looks 10/10 comfort once you break them in.

Beautiful/unique design, in fact the minimalistic design of the shell/exterior was the whole reason I purchased these, and I wasn’t disappointed. Very comfortable. Also; I think it’d be helpful to note that I have been wearing them somewhat regularly for a week+ now and haven’t encountered anything like the ‘immediate wearing of the lining-problem’ described by most negative reviews for this product. The lining seems sturdy and in place. Only con would be that they seem to run slightly small.

These slippers are super comfortable and have great arch support, but this is the first Birkenstock purchase where I’ve been disappointed with the quality and longevity. I’ve had these exactly 5.5 weeks (wear them every day only at home-both with and without socks) and over half of the shearling on the removable inserts is gone. They are apparently replaceable but the replacement inserts cost about as much as the slippers and I could only find them on the EU website. There is hardly any shearling left, and to need replacement parts after less than 6 weeks makes a horrible quality product. And I love and have many pairs of Birkenstocks.

I got my first pair of Birkenstocks ever back in May after dealing with sore feet likely from high arches and unconsciously walking on the balls of my feet. I found so much relief from a pair of Arizona sandals that I knew my slippers needed an upgrade as well for the colder months. I found these and was a bit hesitant at first since some of the reviews found the insoles to be quickly falling apart. But I did a lot of research and knowing how often I was replacing my Uggs I figured these were worth trying (and cheaper). So here’s my advice with any slippers that have a shearling insole for anybody who has had an issue with it coming apart soon after purchase…Wear socks with your slippers the first 5-10 times so that your foot is creating a mold in the shearling without it getting stuck between your toes or the sweat from your feet making it pull out vs compress. I usually always wear slippers anyways, but I think that may help those who had the negative reviews. But these have become my new favorite slippers and I will be purchasing another pair for when these inevitably wear down.
