Dain Combat Boot (Men)

I originally ordered this product for 50$ less on Black Friday, to have my order cancelled because the product was supposedly out of stock. 3 days later I reordered the same product for $50 more which I was not happy about but I was willing to do since it is a top gift for my husband. I received the product, in a plastic bag. For 500$ boots you would think they could maybe send it to you in an actual box?? They literally threw a pair of boots in a random plastic bag and shipped it. Further, the boots were extremely scuffed up everywhere. Ruined. I will never buy shoes from them again after this. Not happy at all.

These boots are excellent! I have several other pairs of Allen Edmonds (boots and shoes) and have been more than happy with all, including these. The styling is squarely in the "smart casual" range, as these are suede combat boots (I got the loden color) but they are subdued enough to also fit under jeans without looking out of place. They are very comfortable right out of the box. I usually wear size 11, but I took a chance on 11.5 as that was the only size left. These fit me perfectly and I love them!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There's a single piece vamp. 1 piece of leather is used . This is better quality than when several small pieces of leather are sewn together. No chance of stitches bursting open. The welt stitches were straight and not over sanded. Poor fit and finish. Lower costs construction . Shaft described as suede. Panels resemble cordura. Under the footbed lining is just layers of foam. Foam is used to cushion and hide a synthetic Texon or Bontex lasting board. Not welted to a leather insole, or leather midsole. You will find a cushioned, springy step. The outsoles are soft rubber, which is light weight. Good traction on linoleum commonly found in topless bars. At the discount price, with a coupon code, there's value.

Coming from a AE newbie who’s purchased around 12 pairs of AE shoes or boots in just the past few months… I have to say this boot is my second favorite (just after the Discovery Chukka). I highly recommend this boot. Ordered my AE typical size (10D) and these fit like they were tailored just for me. They are slightly on the heavier side, especially when compared to the Discovery collection. I have two of the three colors and tempted to get the third color… with these currently being on sale.
