'Ab'Solution Sophie Ankle Skinny Jeans

I normally wear a 14, and if the jean has a ton of stretch, I can wear a 12. I ordered these in a 14. Now here's my story... I've ordered Wit & Wisdom in the past and know there's wonky sizing issues (sometimes a 12 fits like an 8 - or so I assume it fits like an 8 because I'm either not admitting I put on weight, or I don't really know what a size 8 fits like and if the 12 is too tiny for me, then it's obviously a sizing issue with the pants, not the width of my amazing thighs and/or waistline). So look, I listened to the reviews on this that these were running small, and maybe they do a bit in the waist. That said, by the end of the day I looked like I was well on my way to wearing Hammer pants - iykyk, or a size 18 (which I do know how that size fits as I used to be in that one). In my brain, I had ordered both the 12 and 14's and I've been waiting for the 12's to come, but I guess perimenopause brain was lying to me because, in fact, I did not order the 12's. I do fear the 12's would be too tight on my waist (because the weight does like to sit in my waistline and not, once again, these amazing thighs - and also perimenopause). And now that I want to order the 12's, they're no longer in stock.

This review is not against Nordstrom. It’s which ever manufacturing company is making these jeans. I have been wearing wet and wisdom for many years. I have worn these exact jeans multiple times and always hover between a 10 petite and a 12 petite. Anniversary sale to 2025 comes along and I want a new pair so I purchased them in 12 petite. No, my size has not changed. I have multiple pairs of other W&W jeans that are 10 petite and 12 petite that fit well– I have these exact same jeans in black in a 12 petite and they fit just fine. Yes I know that there is different size variations of material based on the color but the fact that I could not even get these up is inexcusable. Again, I’m not faulting Nordstrom for this, but somewhere in the mix, the sizing is inaccurate.

When I first put these on, they felt tighter than my other W&WS, ( this is my favorite brand for jeans), but I decided these are skinny jeans and they’re not meant to be loose and they look really good. And I’ll know they’ll ease up a bit with wear. I like the ankle length for when I want to tuck my jeans into my boots. Honestly, I would prefer a pure dark blue without the feathering. And I would love to get black. They also make me look thinner than the looser styles that I usually wear.
