The straps are stretchy and hold my feet in the sandals without any slapping sound when I walk. I’m a 9.5 and it was definitely good advice to go up if between.

true to size and has a really comfortable footbed, but the top webbing, although it's somewhat adjustable, sits at a strange spot for my little toe, it keeps poking through the space on the side between the webbing - these might work OK for someone with a different shaped little toe? returning
