Could be a winner
I bought this dress in a 3x. I am usually a 2x but the fit was perfect going up a size. The fabric is hefty. No slip needed which is nice for summer. But the style wasn't really for me. I'm short waisted and large busted so with the belt that is sewn on it was not the best style for me. Also the lenght was not good for me.

Bought 2x , typically a 1x. would size up if in between. Fabric is hefty and good weight. Classical style great for wide variety of uses. Belt is complicated and takes a couple of tries to get right, but nice.

based on other reviews, i sized up and it was too large- not massive, but just unflatteringly loose in places it should skim. as others have mentioned, really substantial fabric- like a cotton terry but refined, looks elegant and polished in person. I'm returning as it's a bit big and the sleeves were unflattering.
