True to photo, although the toe is slightly more pointy than it looks. I am an 8.5 in shoes and have 15 inch calves. I bought a size 9 regular calf online as those were the only ones left… the shoes are probably true to size because there is a lot of extra room at the heel even with only an extra 1/2 size up. They were slightly tight on the calves but fit fine. Would recommend you get the wide calf for more comfort if your calves are 15 inch or more, as their calf width measurement is pretty accurate. Inside feels pretty comfortable. The cut of the boot is also pretty flattering with the western-style “V” at the top making your leg seem longer. One gripe is that the shaft material is really soft/flexible, but coupled with the side zipper, there is a bit of bunching on the side (as other reviewers have noted) which makes the silhouette look a little cheap/less sleek.
