Tabby Belted Denim Shirtdress

It was just too much dress. Denim is heavy and still. The belt was wide and long, the sleeves were wide and flared out. Just was not comfortable in it and it didn’t look good at all. I usually take photos for my reviews and I couldn’t do it as I just wanted it off. I usually adore this brand but this one was a miss.

This has to be the most flattering, well made denim dress I’ve ever seen. The lower part is closed by a zipper which keeps the button detail in alignment and provides some great structure. The top part is closed by buttons however the bodice was too tight across my chest so I sized up and it’s perfect. It is very long (down to my ankles) so I’ll have to get it shortened, but it’s well worth it! Great dress, so slimming and well made.

I wear a 6 and the 6 fit perfectly... the fabric and cut is slimming and the length is longer than on the model, but still does not need hemming (I am 5'3"). As others said, the fabric flattens one's bust--even a size DD! But for me, this is a nice change so I will keep it for going out to dinner year round.

First of all the wash of this denim it’s very versatile. I’ve worn it late summer all of fall with a blazer and boots. I’ll be able to wear it through the California winter. Next, is the fit. I’m normally a size 8, but sized up to a 10. This aloud for that extra back and chest space people have noted as being tight. The waist fits perfect, the fabric doesn’t bunch up in the back due to a size increase. I find I wear an 8 in this brand, so consider sizing up. Another great feature is the built-in zipper so that there’s no gapping when you sit down or walk. The material is a medium weight but I found it just fine for the warm August/ September, Bay Area weather. And now it’s on sale. It’s a great dress to dress up or down with sneakers, boots, and with the right person I even pulled off wearing the Madrid berks.
