Didn’t receive package

I received a notification that my package had been delivered, but there was no delivery photo. I checked my door immediately, and the package was not there. I contacted customer service, and they told me a refund request had been submitted. The following day, I received an email stating that my refund request had been denied. I believe this is very unfair because I never received the package.
