Relaxed V-Neck Sweater

These arrived with a terrible dye/chemical smell. I have these sweaters from past years and they have never had this problem, and I love the ones from past years. But now...for something that wants to be hand washed and so will not stand up to some vigorous repeated washing, I have zero confidence that the smell can be washed out. Since I suspect the smell is the dye or the fabric itself, they would be ruined and faded before the smell would be gone. This all smacks of something being produced intentionally cheaply in a bad factory so that it can be marketed on sale and pretend to be a bargain. I'm not sure if the issue is Nordstrom or Treasure and Bond, but this is not acceptable and they are going back. I will pay full price for actual quality, but I won't pay anything for this smell.
