Alene Slingback Half d'Orsay Flat (Women)

I love Toms and own several pairs. These were so cute and perfect for the office but after taking only a few steps, the ankle strap constantly feel down, and I couldn't keep them on my feet. The strap is not adjustable and seemed larger than the fit everywhere else. They appeared quite comfortable, although I was unable to give them an extended wear test. Sadly, I returned them.

These shoes seriously make me question my snobbish attitudes around shoe prices… I like expensive shoes. How they’re designed, how they look, how they flatter… but these shoes have confused me. They are all of these things and they’re comfortable. Suede material means softness in the upper that gives my bendy toe room when I walk. Wide enough to give my metatarsals room to spread so my nerves aren’t getting rubbed, inflamed and sending stabbing signals to my brain. Low vamp elongates my legs (thank you.) Softness on the inside of the slingback so no blisters (so far). I’ve got small ankles, narrow heels and need a space for toes and upper not so unstructured that my feet look lopsided, and not so structured that I’ll get hammertoe-these shoes work with it all. And boy are they cute so flattering so feminine without being a pushover or blatantly screaming for attention. I bought the green fabric ones not on sale because I love the color and style of shoe. Will go with everything. Long skirts, short skirts, jeans, cropped pants…what a sale find!
