Redwood Falls Waterproof Chukka Boot (Men)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased several of the Redwood Chukka Boots, for my grandsons, my husband, son-in-law and other family members. If a woman is smart, she will by her men waterproof, shoes and boots. Men do not change their shoes when the whether gets bad. They catch colds and pass them onto their women. Timberland make an entire line of boots and shoes that are waterproof. These are stylish and well made and very practical. A great purchase for the men in your life.

I wore these most days for two years - mostly office work, occasional motorcycle riding, and a couple trips that included short hikes (2-5 miles). They look good - I love their style. And the leather is fine-enough quality and it got a very nice patina. That's what makes their terrible construction quality when it comes to the sole so upsetting. Before the first year was up, the laces were tattered and had to be replaced with $7 laces from the largest department store in the US that held up infinitely better. By the time the second year was up, the metal shank in the right boot had snapped and the leather had come unsealed and nearly completely separated from the heel of the sole. When I took it to the cobbler, they said they couldn't fix it and that I should get boots with a full stitch-down construction if I wanted something "resoleable" and repairable. Very disappointing because I loved these boots so much... now I have to spend my weekend looking for new boots that should last 5+ years, spend more money with a different brand, and hope that I can find something with the style I like.

I freaking loved those boots back then and I wore those things down to absolutely nothing! I'm ashamed to say that somehow and in someway I got away from the company that served me so well! This is absolutely True as the day is long and I have no excuses for wasting my time and money on some of the others that are out there! Well, I've found ALL the blessings once again with Timberland and I'm here to stay! Just listen- Don't waste your time and money when you can utilize all the Quality and Workmanship right in front of you that's needed in a fairly priced package! Good job Timberland, keep it up!
