Hackney Derby (Men)

I found sizing for this shoe following the Brand's Size Chart to be confusing. My foot is exactly 11.5 inches or 29.2cm. In sneakers like Skecher's brand, I wear a US13/47 1/2EU. Everywhere else in dress shoes like Steve Madden, including in other UK brands such as ECCO, I wear a size 12US/46EU. According to Ted Baker London's shoe size chart, the 11.5" lines up with a "13US/46EU". I ordered online the 13 and while it fit perfectly in the heel and I had plenty of room in the toe box on all sides, I ended up with 1 whole inch extra length available in the toe. It made me feel like I was walking around in swimming fins even though my foot was anchored in position and toes would never have slid forward. I returned the shoe to the store, but they did not have any others in store that I could exchange. Since the packaging was excellent, the quality of the leather and construction and appearance was top notch, I have decided to purchase this same shoe style again online, but in a US12 which would be Ted Baker's "45EU". Honestly, if Nordstrom Rack allowed me to select half sizes online, I think I could get away with a size US11 1/2, since this shoe style's nose is like an alligator snout. [I uploaded a photo showing my thumb at the tip of where my big toe was.] Another pleasant surprise was that the insole padding was comfortable. While not as thick as the Nunn Bush EVA foam compounds that have arch support, this Ted Baker was more comfortable than Steve Madden's of similar style.
