Larkin Wingtip Derby

I've bought a lot of dress shoes over the years and most of them fall into two camps: they look great and destroy your feet, or they're comfortable and look like something my dad would wear. The Larkin Wingtip actually pulled off both. Wore them straight out of the box to a full day of client meetings in the city, no break-in period, no blisters, nothing. The broguing detail is sharp without being flashy, and the leather quality is noticeably better than what I've gotten from other brands at this price point. They've held their shape after a few weeks of regular wear too. My wife even commented on them, which basically never happens with my shoes. Already eyeing a second pair in brown. Well done, J&M.

I bet this shoe would be very comfortable for some. The problem with it is that it's trufoam insole, which is otherwise comfortable, has these strange indentations that run all the way from around the heel up to the ball of my foot where it then turns to the edge of the shoe. Maybe some other feet go further in than mine do so it doesn't do this to them, but it feels like the ball of my foot is standing on a cross pattern where the indentation lip comes to its end as it turns to the edge of the shoe. It's super annoying.
