very nice for chicago
I got the yellow/curry color, even though I initially wanted white or black boots because I was worried about matching. However, I feel like these match pretty well (I wear white/cream, black and dark colors pretty often; I’m not a very colorful dresser right now so that might be why).
It does seem to be a little strange with sizing. I’m usually a 7.5, got size 8. The width was fine (although if I got my usual size it probably would be too narrow), and it is a little roomy if you wear normal/no socks. I’m just wearing normal crew socks for now and they fit fine, but there’s definitely space around my heel and my foot can move back and forth in it. However, when it gets colder, I’ll probably wear thicker/fluffy socks, so that’s why I’m glad I sized up a little.
One issue I have with boots is being able to fit around my calves. I’m not a really big person (5’3, 135lbs), just a little above average, but my calves have always been a little rounder. Even back when I weighed 10 lbs less (although 15 lbs before the “sad times” eating, I didn’t have this problem, so there is a cutoff). But sometimes tall boots just don’t fit. These fit fine, and I think the laces do allow for some amount adjustment. However, I do think there is a limit because the tongue of the boot is not connected to the body of the boot so past a certain point, there would be a gap showing your leg, so keep that in mind if they ever make these final sale/nonreturnable!
Small issues:
for some reason, there’s a hard-ish part right above the bottom joint of my big toe in the left shoe. Not sure why, the right shoe is fine.
Also, I think it could do with a little more traction on the outsole. It’s better than the average shoe, but I still feel a bit unsteady (though it could just be icy patches of snow, I’ll have to wear them a couple of times to find out).
Another thing is that the fluffy fur part is only at the top: the inside is more of a fleece type material. It’s warmer than sneakers, but they’re not as warm as the fur at the top makes them look. I’m managing well enough in day 1 of a Chicago snow/wind combo, but if it goes below 30, I will definitely have to layer socks!

If they were only true to size
I bought these beautiful boots to visit my son in the California mountains and they are sadly too small. I ordered a half size bigger than I normally wear and they were way too tight. I will have to return them and they don’t have the 8 available, bummer.
