Stripe Halter Midi Dress

This dress is so cute and I love it, but the stripes on the top are like the photo on one side and then totally messed up and misaligned on the other side. It looks really strange considering it’s a halter and both sides should be symmetrical. Sadly, I didn’t notice until I had already taken the tags off and had it on for an event. It’s really sad because it’s a very cute dress. I wish it were made a little more carefully.

Size Large Fits like a Size 10 (sizing guide is off). Fabric slightly thicker and heavier than expected. Points for the black stripe print.

I typically order a small (4-6) and this was too small. I could barely pull it over my hips. AND, it opens in the front. The pictures do not show that. The pictures made me really want to purchase this, so I did. I'm returning it though. When I walked in the dress, the sides flared open to show a very short, black transparent skirt. So disappointing!

This dress quietly says “I’m vacationing at a private beach in the Caribbean” or “I’m going to the pool club @ the Bellagio hotel.” (Point of fact: I need it for both.) I read the reviews and I agree that the middle part of dress runs very very small. I shop because I love the style, not the size tag. I honestly don’t care if I’m buying the biggest size dress they make. It looked great on me and therefore, I had to have it. That it was on sale was a nice surprise too. Note: this dress will fit much better if you size up 1 to 2 sizes. I’m in my 50s and have an hourglass figure. I normally wear a size L or a sz 10 in almost every brand I frequent (Staud, Alice & Olivia, Cinq a Sept, French Connection, ASTR the Label, Wayf, etc.) I took off a star for the sizing, but the style more than makes up for the minor inconvenience of having to try on a few different sizes.

This Dre’s is very tight in the rib cage. But I’m returning it because it has a full slit in the very front which reveals the lining. I’m wondering if mine was not even made correctly because this is the oddest thing I’ve seen in a dress :(
