Porth Nanven Waterproof Organic Cotton Blend Raincoat

I live in the PNW and needed raincoat for the 55 degree and under days, probably great up to 32 degrees with layers. Can wear a thick sweater under it. I bought this for dog walks and slow walks through woods in the late fall- early spring. And commute. I wear a size US 6 or 8 in button up blouses. The size US 8 in this was just right with a thick sweeter under it, the 10 was too big. It is lined with insulated quilting everywhere except hood and back is faux fur. The pockets are not ideal, not warmed lined and more in front than the side, but still large enough for phone, keys. There is a generous inside zipped pocket as well. It’s a bit wide in the back, but I like room. Kind of an A- line shape to just above my knees. A bit stiff fabric but I think it will soften up with wear.

It seems like a great waterproof coat for fall and early winter. At first, I was a bit surprised that the fleece lining is only in the hood, but it actually works well because it keeps my head warm when I wear it. I also like that it doesn’t look bulky even when layering underneath, and it’s easy to put on and take off. Since it’s not designed for deep winter, the pockets aren’t lined with a warm material, so they don’t feel particularly warm. I sized up to allow for layering, and it turned out to be a perfect fit. It may not be 100% waterproof in heavy rain like technical outdoor brands, but it does seem to offer decent water resistance for light to moderate rain. Overall, I’m very satisfied.
