Gracie Leather Jacket

I have purchased a lot of Reiss in the past and am familiar with the sizing. This jacket, however, was mis-sized or cut wrong. It was so big in my normal size that the jacket hung on me with the sleeves stretching past my finger tips. I am naturally busty so it’s always a struggle to get a clean closing but not in the jacket. Loads of room and closed with two layers of sweaters under it as a test. No need to worry about the cropped length because it hit at a perfect spot but I could have fit another person inside with me. The color is lucious and the buttons could be heavier weight. Still, I thought about having alterations cut it down to fit my body and use the extra leather for a small crossbody pouch. Seriously. In the end I returned it. If anymore come back in stock I may try again but you were warned. Size. Way. Down.

I hoped I wouldn’t love this jacket, but I picked it up in the post-Nordstrom sale and it won me over. The color leans more brown than burgundy—fresh, modern, and neutral. I sized up from my usual 4 to a 6; there’s no stretch, and the extra room makes layering a blouse or shirt possible. My only gripe: I wish it were faux leather and easier to care for—professional cleaning isn’t ideal where four-season weather is tough on clothes. At 45% off it’s a great deal, though I’m still deciding whether to keep it.
