Shocked at how awesome these are!!
I’ve been in ASICS for over 20 years, with a few different brands sprinkled in. Used to run road but switched to trail 6 years ago. I’ve struggled to find a good trail shoe for all these years, until now! This shoe is incredible. Absolutely blows away any other shoe I’ve tried on the trail. The first run I did in them was 3 miles in snow in the woods in the Hudson Valley. It was 24 degrees out. These shoes ate the trail up! I had so much grip I couldn’t believe it, and my feet finally didn’t hurt after the run because the shoe kept my foot protected and stable over all the uneven terrain, hard tree roots, and shale rocks. Normally I wear a 11.5 in ASICS, 10.5-11 in most women’s casual shoes. Size 11 in the peregrine is perfect for my foot. When I tried them on I wasn’t sure the fit worked with my foot but as soon as I started running my feet synced right up with the shoe and it was comfortable and felt like the perfect fit.

Great traction in mud
I bought these for running muddy hilly trails. They have great grip in deep mud with rocks and roots. I felt safe and confident in them. However, on harder surfaces like packed dirt or asphalt they felt really hard (get to/from trail of interest). I’ve used them twice and after my runs I have really sore calves in these shoes. The stack height, drop, and lug height are consistent with other trail shoe brands I use, so I think the issue for me is the cushioning, the soft vs hard. I also prefer regular shoe laces to speed lacing. The heel padding was good and the gaiter was a bit baggy. The toe box space was good; I have wide feet and regular width was fine.

Advertised as Mens, Label says Womens
After the shoes were delivered. I tried them on, and they did not fit at all. They were too small. Looking more closely at the label inside the shoe, I now understand why it does not fit. It is a women's shoe. See the attached photo. Women's size 9.5 is Men's size 8.

Really nice except…
I love everything about this shoe except that it’s a tiny bit narrow. After wearing them for eight hours the outside of my foot starts to ache. I wish I could get them in a wide.I suggest getting a half size larger.
