'Baggy' Canvas Boot

Ordered the 10 size per Nordstrom recommendation : they said order one size bigger ..... they were huge ...reordered a 9.5 , they fit well. First pair was made in Myanmar, second pair made in Indonesia. The second pair has a flaw in the shape of the left toe cap, but I will keep them as they were 57% off and it is cosmetic. I like these at age 64 as they give ankle support and are light weight . I have a pair of the "Pilot" version and put Chinese made neoprene and wool insoles and they are a bit more comfortable for all day use . Not keen on there return policy : was told you get charged the shipping for return even if you return to the store , and that is 26 miles away from me. Ordered mine online , so what about the flaw in the toe cap if i wanted to return them, I eat the charge too ? that's not right ! Anyway, like the shoes, not the quality control or the size recommendation by Nordstrom.

I am a lady who bought the women's version in 1991 from a very high end west coast store chain no longer in business, a semi high-top to the ankle. They cost $30 more than these and are still presentable except the ankle rim is a little frayed. They are very sturdy. I especially use them for outdoor and indoor heavy duty chores and almost always when traveling as the toe is protected and the lug bottom hugs wet surfaces. The fear that I would never be able to replace them one day led me on a search. What a surprise to see the label is still in business and that my favorite store, Nordstrom, has them. Thank goodness I have a 9 1/2 foot so all I had to do was order 2 sizes smaller, the general rule of thumb for converting sizes. This baggy top which allows for long tights to be tucked in is snapped down but they easily unsnap to create a neat high-top to fit under pants. The jet black ones help to make a better "fashion statement" for touring around town in a nice pair of black slacks. Nothing ruins an attempt to look well tailored than a pair of white or multi-color sneakers screaming out on your feet. An added feature is that they are styled more tapered from the arch forward than my older ones which are wider and more chunky looking.

Love the boots. I wore them to work yesterday and everyone complimented me on em. They thought they were just black chucks at first, then realized they were boots and loved em. They're surprisingly comfortable, but run a teeny bit long, so maybe order a half size down if you like your boots snug.

I already had the stone grey pair (really looks like army green) and I liked those a lot. So i purchased the black pair and was even more impressed. Very nice boot, anytime wear, and an eye catcher. And not to mention the online/store pickup was right on time for a last minute shopper like myself before the holiday's.
