Barbara Bootcut Jeans

I have been purchasing NYDJ for a while now and i love them. Every pair I have fits great. When I receive this pair I was a bit disappointed. I odered my usual 10P and when i receive them I could barely zip them on. They fit like an 8 or even a 6. The length is also off. They were way too long to be petite.

I have several pairs of Barbara Bootcut, purchased in past years that fit perfectly and I still wear but need to be refreshed. I think there is a change in the fabric that has made it stretchier, that affects how the fly covers the zipper and can led to a gappy look. I’d go along with the issue being my body but the older jeans still fit perfect with no gapping, as they always have. I’ve tried larger sizes and the gap still happens even with the pants fitting loosely. The fabric does feel different. Love my old 5 -star pairs but they won’t last forever. Barbara Bootcut is getting the boot from me from now on. I understand others might like the new fabric. Maybe the flap over the zipper should be altered to stop the zipper area from being likely to be exposed at the stitching point

I'm not sure if the jeans I received were a one-off or if all of the jeans in this cut are like this but, they had a very strange cut to them where the waist fit great but there was a very pronounced curve that was misplaced, not in the hip area but literally just below the waist band. My sense was that the pair I received may have had a sewing defect.

I really wanted to keep these! I’m 5’2” and 120 lbs. Usually size 4P. For this pair of jeans, it runs a little small. Perfectly snug in the legs and hips, and even lifts the booty a little, but feels like Size 2P in the waist. Also runs LONG. Too long for my petite self. It’s a 30” inseam which works if you wear heels. Not for me. I usually live in flats or wedges. I prefer to be ready to run errands or jump a fence at any time.
