I gave up on heels and pointed-toe (uncomfortable, feet-wrecking) shoes after the pandemic. But with increasing demand for in-person work events, I wanted something that could be paired with a power suit or that would still elongate my legs in a shorter skirt or dress. These shoes fit that bill without killing my feet by the end of a work day. I have not yet stood in them for hours at a social function, but they seem fairly comfortable. I have wide, problematic bunions, and sizing up in these shoes allowed me to wear them without pain. The $50 price is in line with the quality you’d expect from a faux leather patent shoe. So I don’t expect them to last forever. But the tortoise patent is chic, and a fun “neutral.”
