Twill Fit & Flare Tank Dress

I was so excited about this dress and really tried to make it work. First, it’s not really a “brilliant” white, it’s a dull white. The stitching is a warm sand color. Okay, I can live with that. I ordered the xl and it hung on me. I usually order L or XL depending on the dress. I thought maybe I could adjust the straps and hung it up for awhile to think about it. I wore it once with a blazer thinking the extra size would not be an issue. It wasn’t really… what WAS an issue was that someone pointed out that the stitching on the bodice was uneven! It is not spaced evenly across the two front panels. PLUS, as you can see in the picture, the fabric is flat on one side and angled on the other indicating the layout on the bolt was at a different angle. The other thing that drove me crazy is that the hem, although stitched so nicely and doubled and even…. is just a mess! I tried and tried to steam and iron that to lay flat, but as you can see, it just wanted to pucker. By the time I’d worn it and tried to love it, noticed the bodice uneven stitching, it was too late to return it. The last thing I want to do is argue with someone at the counter! So I am stuck with this dress that could have been so cute, but alas, is wasting space in my closet.
