Best Shoe Ever
These shoes are wonderful on my feet. I wish that you keep the hook and loop type shoe cause it is easier and comfortable on me then any shoes I had before.

Why such cheap material?
Such disappointment! Cheap material, poorly made, not wide enough. Maybe NB is no longer my go to for wide feet.

Comfortable
The shoe is well-made and comfortable, but I have a high instep so the velcro closure on top is too short. I am using the shoe anyway for walking exercise in my home.

Walking Shoe
The shoes squeak when I walk. I have held off on rating them, but time has not helped reduce the noise so I am unable to wear them out in public. The seams in the inside have also made tender spots. I may expect this will a different model of shoe, but my feet have not hardened to them. I will try soaking the shoes in the next couple of weeks to see if it makes a difference, but at this point I would not recommend this style to anyone without trying them on first.

womens walking shoes with velcro straps
Have worn Model 813 for years in all colors, black, white & beige.Loved that shoe but 813 is no longer available. Ordered Model 577. It is a very poor substitute. Stiff, not comfortable. Sorry I did not order it in leather as it may be more pliable. Wish New Balance had more choices with velcro

Thank goodness for velcro!
I have a hand injury and can't tie shoelaces. Before I got these shoes, I had to have someone tie the laces for me. Now, I'm able to put my shoes on without help! This may sound silly, but it is a really big deal.
