Well made shoes
I have this shoe for 2 years walking, hiking, running with dogs. I still have it on. My feet are protected by this well made strong shoe. Make sure wear socks for better feet protection.

didn’t hold up
Unfortunately didn’t hold up, I love Merrell and have had them for 20 plus years. This was my daughters first pair and we went hiking out in Utah and unfortunately 15 days of trip and the inside of the ankle area has frailed and split open on both shoes. So sad.

Great shoe for beginner hikers
Bought these for a trip to the redwoods national forest. These were super comfortable and really didn’t need breaking in as I was only able to wear them once for a 2 mile walk prior to our trip and never had any problems! Definitely size down a half size.

Comfortable, breathable shoes
These shoes are so comfortable! Cushioning without being sloppy, at least for me. As I don't hike much these days, these are great for easy walks. I got a 10.5 which fits me well, although I sometimes need an 11 in Merrell walking shoes. It doesn't feel too big for me. It's my go anywhere shoe these days.

Not same quality
I have 3 other pairs of Merrell hiking shoes that are comfortable and true to size. These are not comfortable and the fit is off. Runs a half size bigger and feels oddly stiff.
