Willow Nadine Popover Long Sleeve Midi Shirtdress

I really wanted to love this. It’s such an effortlessly chic style and I love a dress that can be equally casual or dressy. But this dress is best suited for someone with curves. There is a LOT of material in the waist and hip areas. I am 5’8” 140 lbs with no hips, ordered a Medium, and this was just not a flattering fit for me. When the sash was tied, it just made all the extra material bulge out on the sides in the hip area as well as lots of vertical folds due to all the material being gathered up. I think a size Small would have helped with this BUT, the sleeves on this are short (which I didn’t mind too terribly much because I planned to wear them pulled up like on the model) so for the price I am just not willing to attempt a Small, knowing it might be an issue then in the shoulder and sleeve areas. Especially with this being a Rayon and Linen blend I get concerned with it drawing up. I do think on the right body this could be a 4-5 star dress. If you’re curvy or have bigger hips, I think this dress would be perfect for you! One last point- as the video describes, this is a thick, heavy material. It’s lined which is great to combat being see-through and doesn’t make it feel cheap, but this is not going to be a dress you want to wear out in the heat of summer to brunch on a patio. I think of Linen and think summer-wear. This would make a great dress for the office though or other places where you need a little protection from the cold A/C.
