Gerty Ankle Strap Sandal

Im particular with the shoes I buy. Comfort, quality and style are non-negotiable. These sandals are perfect. They are stylish, lightweight, fit to size and the width is forgiving. I appreciate upper leather. Not sure how they will wear over time but for now they are wonderful. I bought a pair in black and a pair in beige.

As someone with wider feet, it can be hard to find sandals that are both flattering and comfortable, but these are both. They look great on, feel good to wear, and were worth the effort to get the fit right. I ended up loving them enough to buy more colors. I did size up half a size for more flattering look for bigger wide feet.

I’m SO BUMMED that these sandals did not work out. They are minimal, look good with dresses, shorts, jeans and looked great on my feet (not a fan of the square heel, but would have overlooked it if the rest was okay). The problem was how heavy they felt. When I took a step, the sandals were fighting gravity and wobbled on my feet and when my feet hit the floor the sandals made a loud noise. Darn it! They are just too cute, but I know I would never feel comfortable in them, so they were returned. Aaarrgghh!

These shoes have a nicely padded foot bed and secure comfortable straps. I originally ordered the tan but decided it was too close to the color of my foot so the shoe didn’t really shine. I was looking for more of a caramel color and this was more like a light brown. So I purchased the gold instead and it’s a keeper! It’s good for anything from dresses to shorts, and I know I will be wearing it all summer. My usual size 9 fits perfectly, and the width is good for my normal width foot.
