Maybe a I got a bad pair?

After the first time I washed them I noticed that the inseam on the pants were very worn and are all pilly. Maybe I just got a bad pair since no one else seems to have this issue. Normally I never have any quality issues with jeans from madewell but these I feel like I can’t wear anymore due to the pilling and wear

Strong chemical smell

Love the fit, weak material
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the fit of these jeans, but I've only worn them a few times, and already the material in the crotch is wearing down, I can tell the seams will ripe fairly soon which is a disappointment at this price point. If you're thighs touch together, this material will not last.
