I typically have to have my jeans altered, but it wasn’t the case with these. I am 5’7, athletic, inverted triangle shape, 130 lbs. They make my waist look tiny and hug my butt in the right places. Straight leg all the way down so love with a crop top or fitted tee, nothing oversized.

I usually buy a size down from Madewell. Based on reviews, I bought my actual size and they were the typical size or two too big from Madewell. I would stick with what your normal size is from this company - or if you’re new to Madewell, size at least one size down.

Nice jean, wider leg but not too wide
Found the sizing to be spot on. Right out of the bag they are good. The true test is after they are worn for a few hours. But based on the amount of stretch, they should be good. Looking for a wider leg but not too baggy for an older gal. Done with skinny jeans.

Fits small in the waist
I ordered my normal Madewell size and while the legs fit fine, the fit is way too small in the waist. This might work well for someone with a small waist relative to hips/thighs.
